Escoba
Make 15 with the cards on the table… and sweep it clean with an escoba!
Classic Escoba del 15 with the Spanish deck: play a card, add cards from the table to make 15 and take them. If you clear the table, that's an escoba (a sweep)! 2 to 4 players, also in pairs.
How to play
- Played with the 40-card Spanish deck. Cards 1 to 7 are worth their number; the Jack is worth 8, the Knight 9 and the King 10.
- Each player gets 3 cards and 4 are placed on the table (if they add up to 15 or 30, the dealer takes them as an escoba). On your turn you play a card: if it adds up to exactly 15 with cards on the table, you take them; if not, it stays on the table.
- If there are several ways to make 15, you choose which to take (we suggest the best one). If you clear the table, it's an “escoba”: 1 point.
- When everyone runs out of cards, 3 more are dealt. When the deck runs out, whoever took cards last gets the ones left on the table (that's not an escoba).
- At the end of each round you score 1 point for each escoba, for having the most cards, the most coins, the most sevens and the seven of coins (“siete bello”). With “la setenta” (an optional rule), 1 more for the best card of each suit. Ties don't score.
- Whoever reaches the game's target first wins (15, 21 or 31). With 4 players you can play in pairs: your partner sits across from you.
