Hitori
Shade the extra numbers without letting shadows touch.
Shade cells so no number repeats in its row or column. Shaded cells can’t touch and all the white cells must stay connected. Every board has a single solution, and you get there by thinking, not guessing.
How to play
- Shade cells until no number repeats among the white cells of its row or column.
- Two shaded cells can never touch along a side (diagonally is fine) and all the white cells must form one connected area.
- Tap a cell to shade it (or unshade it). With “Mark” you circle the ones that will surely stay white. Long-press (or right-click) for the other tool and drag to repeat across several cells.
- Tips: a number that doesn’t repeat stays white; one between two identical numbers (like the 5 in “3 5 3”) does too; and so does everything touching a shaded cell.
- The red warnings are free. If you get stuck, buy a hint with Pupicoins (5, 10 or 15 depending on difficulty, H key): it fixes a mistake or makes the next deduction and tells you why, but with hints your time doesn’t count toward your best.
- Easy: 6×6; Medium: 7×7; Hard: 8×8 (the clock runs from the moment you see the board). Keyboard: arrows to move, X shades, O marks, Delete erases, T switches tool, Z undoes and N starts another board.
Hitori: online race
Everyone gets the same Hitori at the same time. The first to leave the board with no repeated numbers, no touching shaded cells and all white cells connected wins.
