El Pozo

Call a suit and grab the piles from the pozo (the pool).

A Spanish-deck card game of luck and instinct: call a suit, everyone flips their card and you take the matching piles. Run out of cards and you're out.

How to play

• The whole Spanish deck is dealt: each player has their own face-down deck, without looking at it.
• Taking turns, one player calls a suit (coins, cups, swords or clubs) and everyone flips the top card of their deck onto their pile in the pozo.
• The caller adds to their deck every pile whose top card is of that suit, whether big, small or their own.
• If your deck runs out of cards, you're eliminated. The last player with cards wins.
